The Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) is delighted to extend its congratulations to Congresswoman Dina Titus on her recent appointment as Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials (“Rail Subcommittee”).

This Subcommittee plays a vital role in the lives and livelihoods of BRS members, who maintain and install the signal systems essential for safe and efficient railroad operations. As the 119th Congress gets underway, we anticipate significant developments on key legislative issues, including proposals to strengthen rail safety and reauthorize federal programs that support both passenger and freight rail systems.

Over her tenure, Congresswoman Titus has demonstrated consistent support for rail workers, championing measures such as appropriate train-crew requirements, advancing high-speed rail initiatives—including the prominent Brightline West Project—and advocating for paid sick leave among Class I freight rail employees. With her personal ties to the railroad industry, we trust that she will continue to prioritize the needs of rail labor. The BRS looks forward to collaborating with her on these and other vital issues in the years ahead.

Additionally, we congratulate Congressman David Rouzer of North Carolina on his appointment as Chair of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Rail Subcommittee.
