JUNE 21, 2022, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA — More than 230 delegates of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen’s (BRS) 53rd Regular Convention re-elected, by acclamation, Michael S. Baldwin to lead the Signalmen’s union for the next four years. Brother Baldwin was first elected BRS President in 2021, fulfilling an unexpired term, after serving as the Organization’s Secretary-Treasurer.
The delegates also re-elected, by acclamation, James M. Finnegan to the position of Secretary-Treasurer. Brother Finnegan was first elected as Secretary-Treasurer in 2021 after serving as the Organization’s Vice President Commuter/Passenger.
The following are the results of the elections for the other BRS national offices conducted during the convention:
R. Quinn Norman was re-elected Vice President Headquarters by acclamation.
Brandon E. Elvey was re-elected Vice President NRAB by acclamation.
Cory L. Claypool was re-elected Vice President West by acclamation.
Timothy M. Tarrant was re-elected Vice President Commuter/Passenger by acclamation.
Douglas R. VanderJagt was re-elected Vice President East by acclamation.
Kurt Mullins was elected Vice President Midwest by acclamation. Current Vice President Midwest, Joe Mattingly, will retire at the end of his term in October.
R. Gus Demott was re-elected to the office of Grand Lodge Trustee by acclamation.
John O. McArthur was re-elected to the office of Grand Lodge Trustee over Joe Chipules by a vote of 130 to 97, with four spoiled ballots.
Michael J. Sullivan was re-elected to the office of Grand Lodge Trustee over Joe Chipules by a vote of 145 to 87, with two spoiled ballots.
