We thank Chairman Defazio, Chairman Payne Jr., and Congresswoman Titus for drafting legislation to hold the Railroads accountable and provide paid sick leave to Signalmen. Your leadership helped push our message through the House of Representatives with 221 supporters. Although the efforts were stalled in the Senate, we appreciate your push and stand with the working man.

We also applaud Congressman DeFazio for continuing to carry the torch with his speech from the floor on December 5, 2022, not letting the railroads off the hook and keeping the pressure on them. He stated:

It’s time for the railroads to face the music, precisions scheduled railroading is an  abject failure, your service is atrocious, you treat your workers with no respect; don’t come crying to the Federal Railroad Administration and Congress to bail you out for your ineptitude, greed and profit taking. If you can't provide your workers with paid sick time because you don’t have enough people working, well then maybe the CEOs can take a shift in the rail yard to cover.
