AUGUST 26, 2025, FRONT ROYAL, VIRGINIA – The Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) has reached a tentative national agreement with the freight railroads. The agreement is subject to membership ratification.

Key provisions of the tentative agreement include:

• General wage increases totaling 18.8% over five years.

• No increase to employee health and welfare contribution rates, with 2025 premiums reduced to about $277 per month.

• Expanded access to paid vacation time earlier in employees’ careers.

If ratified, the agreement will run through December 31, 2029.

BRS President Michael Baldwin stated, “This agreement reflects the priorities of our membership at the national table. The final decision rests where it always should—with the members.”

The agreement will now be submitted to members for review and a ratification vote. Additional details regarding the voting process will be communicated directly to members.
