SEPTEMBER 30, 2025, Front Royal, VIRGINIA — The Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) has announced the results of the membership vote on the proposed National Wage and Benefit Agreement. Of the 3,401 ballots distributed, 2,131 were returned, representing a 62.66% participation rate.
The final tally of votes was:
Yes (Approve): 1,004 (47.11%)
No (Disapprove): 1,127 (52.89%)
Spoiled Ballots: 0
Ballots were independently tallied by Simply Voting.
Breakdown by carrier:
- BNSF: 1,173 ballots returned (65.9%). Yes: 399 (34%), No: 774 (66%).
- BRS National: 331 ballots returned (59.7%). Yes: 221 (66.8%), No: 110 (33.2%).
- Norfolk Southern (Eastern Region and N&W): 409 ballots returned (60.3%). Yes: 224 (54.8%), No: 185 (45.2%).
- Norfolk Southern (Southern): 218 ballots returned (56.2%). Yes: 160 (73.4%), No: 58 (26.6%).
“Our members have spoken,” said BRS President Mike Baldwin. “The BRS remains committed to advancing member’s priorities at the bargaining table, and we will continue to work toward an agreement that honors their hard work and sacrifices.”
