December 15, 2025 – BRS President Michael Baldwin has appointed Justin Pier to the position of Director of Research, following the election of Chris Hand as Vice President Headquarters.

Brother Pier previously served as a Grand Lodge Representative assigned to the Brotherhood’s Headquarters in Front Royal, Virginia. In his new role, Brother Pier will assume responsibility for the research functions previously handled by Vice President Hand. Brother Hand will continue to oversee regulatory matters, while Brother Pier will also continue supporting the Brotherhood’s communications efforts.

Brother Pier began his railroad career in 2013 as an Assistant Signalman with the BNSF Railway. He was promoted to Signalman in 2015 and later served as Foreman of a signal maintenance gang. In 2020, he was awarded the position of Signal Maintainer, a role he held until his appointment to Grand Lodge.
